Central Texas Toll Roads Map

Purpose

To improve mobility and relieve congestion on I-35 and other major transportation facilities within the Austin-San Antonio corridor.

Description

SH 130 (Segments 1-4) will be a new 49-mile tollway located east of I-35 through Williamson and Travis counties, extending from I-35 north of Georgetown to U.S. 183 southeast of Austin. It is part of the 2002 Project of the Central Texas Turnpike System, which also includes SH 45 North and the Loop 1 Extension. (Funds for the 2002 Project are detailed in the 2002 Project Official Statement in the Investors section .

SH 130 will be a four-lane divided facility with major interchanges at I-35, U.S. 79, SH 45 North, U.S. 290 and SH 71. As traffic warrants and funding becomes available, SH 130 may be expanded to a six-lane facility.

SH 130 Segment 2 (from US 79 near Hutto to US 290 near Manor) opened to traffic on October 31, 2006. SH 130 Segment 1 (from I-35 near Georgetown, Texas to US 79) opened to traffic on December 13, 2006. Segment 3 (US 290 to SH 71) opened to traffic on September 6, 2007. The schedule for completion of Segment 4 (SH 71 to US 183 near Mustang Ridge) is under development; construction is expected to be complete by Spring 2008 or earlier.
