To relieve congestion on existing Loop 1 and other surrounding roadways by providing a more efficient route between northern Travis and southern Williamson counties.

Description

The Loop 1 extension is approximately three miles long from Parmer Lane to SH 45 North. It is a six-lane divided roadway with limited frontage roads. The Loop 1 extension opened in the Fall of 2006.

This project is part of the 2002 Project of the Central Texas Turnpike System, which also includes SH 45 North and the northern 49 miles of SH 130. (Funds for the 2002 Project are detailed in the 2002 Project Official Statement in the Investors section.
